I am a Professor of Public Health and Chair of USCB’s Department of Public Health & Human Services, and I also serve as Executive Director of the Center for Human Services Evaluation and Director of Experiential Learning for the University. Previously, I served as program coordinator for USCB’s Public Health and previously Health Promotion programs.

I oversee many student research scholars who have received Magellan Scholar Awards. My research spotlights college student life and programs aimed at reducing alcohol, tobacco and other drug use. Most recently, my research has focused on mechanisms attributing to COVID-19 vaccine uptake and the health and wellness of the LGBT community in and around the Lowcountry.

I received a BA at the University of Toledo in 2008 made possible through a four-year Division I Athletic Scholarship in basketball. After earning a Master of Arts in School Psychology and a Ph.D. in Health Education from the University of Toledo, I joined Ohio's only accredited college of Public Health at The Ohio State University as a Research Specialist in the Center of Health Outcomes, Policy and Evaluation Services before joining USCB in 2015.

Over the course of my career, I have received over 3 million dollars in funded research grants, including serving as Principal Investigator for a $1.5 million contract with the Health Resource & Services Administration (HRSA), provided scholarships to public health students, along with numerous professional publications and more than 50 professional presentations. Today, I am actively involved with bringing relevant academic programs to the Lowcountry.
